Erica Yuen is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on September 28, 1980 in Hong Kong. Yuen joined Hong Kong politics in 2011 after she founded Power Voters, which would later become a member of the coalition with People Power, with the goal of rebuking People Power for blaming the Democratic Party for its stance during 2010. Hong Kong electoral reform. in 2012 Yuen declared that she would be running in into the Hong Kong Legislative Council election in September of that year with the designation of People Power candidate for New Territories East constituency along with the support of Raymond Chan Chi-chuen. In preparation for the election the election, she abstained from her US citizenship, as required by Hong Kong election law. Yuen was second on her party list according to the proportional party-list representation. Ray Chan, who was the first on the list was elected however, Yuen herself, as with the other candidates who were ranked at the bottom or in the middle of their lists of party members however, was not.
Yuen created a multi-brand skin care and health products shop Mi Ming Mart in 2009. On December 14, 2014, Yuen got married to fellow traveler as well as Power Voters chairman Anthony Lam Yue-yeung. Lam is the CEO of the media platform memehk.com until 2016 and, like Yuen had a failed run in the race for Southern District Council.
As of 2005 Yuen took part in Miss Hong Kong pageant where she was given the title of Tourism Ambassador. She was selected as among the five top contestants in the finale.
Yuen was elected the chairwoman of People Power, succeeding Christopher Lau in July 2013. In March 2014, Yuen stood in a by-election for the South Horizons West seat on the Southern District Council, following the resignation of Fung Wai-kwong. She secured second place with 1,083 votes, behind Judy Chan Ka-pui of the New People’s Party (2,023 votes) and ahead of Sin Chung-kai of the Democratic Party (920 votes). She failed again to challenge Chan in the general election in 2015. She stood as the second candidate in Christopher Lau’s list in Hong Kong Island in the 2016 legislative election but the list was not elected. She resigned from the chairwomanship of People Power after the Legco election.
